Network Concord Job Seekers observations

Today we had our Friday morning Network Concord Job Seekers meeting. As always, I was so inspired with the supportive energy among the group members.

However, something new was in the air. People are looking inward for answers. I observed members listening to inner voice more, and unemployment statistics less. I felt the energy and power as some members expressed what they can “DO” instead of stating their previous job title. People are listening less to “experts” and allowing themselves to remember their OWN expert status — especially when it comes to what makes them happy.

I shared the following post with the members who were not present:

During the holiday time, allow yourself to experience the shift in energy — even for a few hours. Have a bit of fun. When you are able to relax and express yourself authentically you remind yourself of what makes you tick. And that you are so much more than just someone looking for work!

When you allow yourself to relax and be mindful, you are able to set intentions and plans that are more in line with your dreams. I know at times I spend too much time in my head trying to “figure it out”. The meeting today reminded me that although life tossed a few curve balls to some folks recently, the shift in energy and focus was enough for some brilliant shifts in perception.

There are plenty of “experts” out there but you are the expert of your life. Have fun. You are worth it!

I reached out to “help” the community by offering a Job Support group. In turn, I was “helped” in more ways that I could have ever imagine. I will share more about these brave travelers in the future. But I want to offer my gratitude to the members of this group for allowing me to witness such examples of courage and grace. And I honor the “community” spirit that has grown over the months.
